Cheriene Floyd serves as Chief Data Officer for the City of Miami. She brings a wealth of experience and a passion for using data and technology to drive meaningful change. Cheriene’s career, which spans over two decades, is marked by her commitment to data-informed decision-making and innovation. It includes pivotal roles such as a consultant at KPMG where she held lead roles in the implementation of the Affordable Care Act for Hawaii and Connecticut, reinforcing her dedication to making complex systems work for people.

​​She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. She then went on to achieve a Master of Public Administration from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and a Master of Business Administration from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. Cheriene’s journey is a testament to her belief that when we combine data with heart and purpose, we can create a government that truly serves its people.
